Natural Stone Countertops versus Engineered Stone Countertops
So you have finally decided that it is time to give your kitchen that much needed facelift and install a stone countertop. This is an excellent decision that you have made. Now the next decision you have to make is whether to go for countertops made of natural stone or those made from engineered stone. It would be grossly inaccurate to just out and say that either stone is better than the other since each option has its own benefits and drawbacks and these would matter differently for different people.
Natural stone countertops are great because of their aesthetic value. Granite countertops, for instance, are each unique and different from each other and can be finished to a mirror like appearance that is simply beautiful. Marble, on the other hand, creates a prestigious and sophisticated look because of its luxurious appearance. Both are heat resistant which makes them ideal for the kitchen and granite is scratch resistant as well and that translates into a longer lifespan and overall better quality for money. It is worth mentioning also that natural stone countertops are currently the trending solution when it comes to home remodeling and they are therefore the way to go if you want to really make your home look as modern as possible. However, natural stone is not exactly cheap when you buy from a local store though I usually find that I can save some good money by going to natural stone suppliers near me instead.
Engineered stones are great options for home owners who want to get the same looks as natural stone but probably do not have the budget for the latter. One of the best examples of engineered stones on the market right now is dekton. This material can be used to make dekton facades and for other surfaces in the house and it has many of the same advantages associated with natural stone since it is made by replicating the natural stone formation process at artificially accelerated conditions.
